Estancia de los Rios
Rio Cisnes Area • Chilean Patagonia
We are excited to offer a two-week package combining Chile and Argentina with our dear friends, the Dufflocqs, at Estancia de los Rios Lodge in Chilean Patagonia. The estancia sits within a half day’s journey from Brook Trout Base Camp, across Patagonia’s back roads.
Estancia de los Ríos Lodge is set on an incredible 360,000-acre working estancia with more than 60 miles of private rivers and spring creeks. The Rio Cisnes flows through the estancia, on its way to the Pacific Ocean. A variety of private lakes and smaller ponds add to the variety of productive waters.
The lodge at Estancia de los Rios hosts up to 12 anglers in extraordinary style and comfort with six double rooms and private baths. Tasty Chilean cuisine is served in the timber-framed dining room, and a delicious “asado” tops off the week in the authentically-styled “quincho.”
Family and legacy are important to both El Encuentro and Estancia de los Rios. The Beale and Dufflocq families share the core values of building personal relationships, the art of fly fishing, and customer service. Both of our families opened the first fishing lodges in our respective areas of Patagonia.
The Fishing at Estancia de los Rios
Estancia de los Rios is a dry fly angler’s paradise — remote and secluded with plentiful brown trout in all sizes. Anglers delight in fishing new private water every day, where they and other lodge guests are the only anglers. A bilingual Chilean guide takes anglers exploring the various walk-wade beats on the Rio Cisnes and out across the estancia’s beautiful landscape to fish spring creeks or ply the waters of ponds and lakes in search of large browns. Depending on the season, one can do a float trip on the lower Rio Cisnes.
Horseback riding and hiking may also be offered. The Lodge is open from mid-December through late March. We recommend January through early March.
“We love being able to explore Patagonia and experience two different countries all within a half day of each other.”
