Roberto Forno

Born in Santiago de Chile in 1985, Roberto Forno moved to Patagonia at the age of four. His love of fly fishing has been passed down through his family, with his father giving him his first fishing lesson at age twelve. He was hooked from then on. A man of many skills, Roberto has degrees in both Tourism and Engineering. He worked as a ski and snowboard instructor in California for two seasons.

Having worked as a freelance guide for several years in Chilean and Argentine Patagonia, Rob has found his home with El Encuentro Fly Fishing since 2018. His lively sense of humor, teaching skills, and delight in putting you on the right water for your interests combine to make a great day with Roberto.

Roberto and his wife Verónica, and their daughter Elena live near Los Alerces National Park. They built four guest cabins for vacation rentals in that beautiful spot.
